Abstract: Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS) developed by Horwitz et al. (1986) has been branched out for language-skill specific purposes by various researchers over the last few decades. Owing to the nature of speaking skills, anxiety plays a significant role not only in language learning but also in language teaching. Accordingly, countries where English is taught as a foreign language (EFL), the previously coined term Foreign Language Speaking Anxiety (FLSA) is applicable for both in-service, and pre-service English teachers. Despite many possible root causes for this anxiety, in an EFL context, the impact of being a non-native English speaking teacher (NNEST) is irrefutable, as studied by many. This study aims to determine the relationship between the FLSA levels and perceptions of NNEST of pre-service English teachers studying in a high-ranking university in Turkey, where English is taught as a FL. ...
